It appears through this actual event fully recorded, what the actual both intellectual and spiritual capacity of Mr Ramlal Bomjon really is. He speaks like a four years old boy who has seen very little of schools, and would probably not even be able to spell the word education. His preoccupation is only to get what he wants, like a little boy. He doesn’t really know how to express himself even in his own native Nepali language, gives an absolutely interesting insight on his mindset, and shows that he probably never even wrote himself any of his speeches.

It seems clear why he needs donation money, among other things to finance the salaries of the Khenpos he hires, which are the most likely explanation of the apparent validity of ‘his’ teachings. Whenever captured on tape, on always wanders what is it he really understands, and why does he rarely takes part to any recorded sessions.

It also explains the crucial role played by Mrs Andrea Good, as the only translator used essentially to beautify his text in English and through the deceptive gloss she places over the translations make believe everyone the big farce that is being served to collect money from the easily gullible.

Prime Minister Koirala:

May there be utmost peace in our nation, it is Buddha’s-peace, non-violence and stability be here. Buddha’s as well with regards to harmony for democracy, this nation, especially for development, and taking the lead for development. With regards to that, I just want peace. May there be peace and stability, then only we will achieve these things. This Democratic Republic has become inclusive. This is all good achievement. Even for democracy equal opportunity for everyone has become an achievement. Now we are trapped in conflict. Even now the matter of conflict, terrifying people, coercion, are all against Buddhist religion. We are trying to displace that.

Here poor youths, ladies and young men amounting to 3.5 to 4 million in number are having to go abroad. Whereas nature has provided us with everything here. This huge water resource is our asset. All the raw material of the nation is taken away. We sell it for 1 Rupee. We are having to buy the same for 100 Rupees. May Nepal and Nepali be free from this. And now we are all determined to make investment.

But when peace is violated, after that the same movement, vandalizing, terror, coercion, if still existent, who will have to bear the loss, national will move towards poverty again. Therefore I just have one issue, how can Nepal and Nepali co-exist and live with happiness, prosperity and stability. There is huge terrorism, instability in the world and everybody is in the search of peace.

Now Buddha is the path, isn’t it peace and non-violence? Therefore we also want the same, I am also searching for the same. Now Nepal will issue its constitution in 3, 4 months. What I would ask you to do is to assure Nepali people, your mission, speech should target how to maintain and peace and stability to enable entire Nepali to live with happiness, peace and stability.

May the outbound 3 to 3.5 million youths return. By progressing here in Nepal using our natural resources we can provide employment to millions of people. We are in a position to provide employment for out comers. Nowadays we hear about the death of the poor people in Gulf countries every single day. By living in such a remote area, hot sand, doing such difficult work; at least it is not like that here. Hence may such an environment be created where all Nepali can live with happiness and prosperity.

 

Ramlal Bomjon:

If the government is able to be a little concerned about Dharma, having faith and belief in Dharma, a little trust on religion, we are there to spread peace. If Nepal government shows a little concern towards us, I don’t think it is undo-able. If asked why, it is because we can make people understand, convince people and accommodate everyone. People have faith in religion. Even if 5 people out of 100 have blind faith, we can bring the 95 to have faith.

In order to establish peace in Nepal we are making attempts for it. But due the cross-accusations made upon us, it is evident that you have to help and cooperate with us a little intensely. Even in the forest we are frustrated, cross-accusations are made upon us, let us not say it to you, but perhaps a little to the ground staff… The intellectuals are from the vicinity of the village, they have made the orders. Reality is, they should have helped and cooperated with regards to religion, but it has not happened.

Whenever we do anything, they ask us to go up. When we go up they ask to go down. We are lost in between. We who work have belief that we will get help and cooperation in the forest. You have expressed good things for a better national and deep sentiment for the people. Although am also seen as a commoner, being a citizen have become known in the world as a Guru and have reached that level in the form of Guru. How much of faith, belief, and trust you have on that is something which you have discretion upon. I have faith in religion and belief that all of you will improve.

We also have to keep in mind about disturbance in betterment if the capable has to face blind faith, and cross-accusations by a couple of people. Not even little positive thing about the nation has reached to the international community. I am also making attempts to establish a little bit of identity of the nation. I don’t know what you all think about this, I believe in you all. Having deep faith in you from within I strongly believe that we would be able to receive a forest. In order to do these things from my side, let us propose for the forest. I think that I can do something for the nation.

 

Gentleman:

I would like to tell couple of general things to the honorable Prime Minister about the time when 15 to 20 people were dying every day. When Guru entered Jungle for penance on May 15, 2005 after that along with stability of Nepal and in course of establishment of democracy and republic, the activities of Maoists also started getting calmed down.

Now in this environment the religious forest which is Halkhoriya, Guru is in that area. We had fenced the area of 600 Hectares by barbed wire. We did religious programs, and it was our area for temple and huts etc. All our religious activities were our programs. It was place of residence for our disciples of sangha and after the government demolished this structure, Guru was not allowed to enter there.

Unnecessary activity was done by using media and journalists. Later on when we entered Halkhoriya on June 10 appellate court had issued an interim order. Even during that time armed forest guards along with 700 police personnel came and tried to remove Guru from there. I was myself in Halkhoriya and Piluwa and told the next day that the police chased everyone but could not find Guru. This was told by the forest officials there.

Mr. Prime Minister there were two things that were seen there. The pond that is in Halkhoriya is used for fishery and lot of people come for fishing there. Since that is a national forest area, I think that even the staffs are not able to make a decision. And I feel like a crowd of smuggler of firewood and the ones who cut trees in that national forest area. They could not even pick a leaf of a tree during Guru’s stay there for 6 years and those people are making accusations against us in the administration of Bara, is what we have felt. We don’t have problem in other districts. For instance Guru stayed in Sindhupalchowk, Sindhuli, Sarlahi, Patharkot. We were not bothered by administration in any of these districts but Bara’s administration especially the forest officials chase Guru in the night time. They say that there is no order for Guru to stay here from high command, and Mr. Prime Minister when we ask if they don’t know about Guru residing there since 6 years they say they do know.

 

Prime Minister Koirala:

When forest mafia does so, land mafias would have already entered and they don’t believe in any god, religion.

 

Ramlal Bomjon:

We have to maintain the prestige of the nation, everyone should be together even the people having blind faith…. We have to adopt the path of peace not violence. May everybody improve, be able to be religious and conserve water beings. Somebody of our nation is PM, king, some of them well-established, and some in illusion. Whatever I have been doing is for the well-being of the world, not for my ego. You have to understand that if you are able to provide the forest, I can do the rest and other nations also want this to happen. National and international entities raise question about this. What can we say? Whatever is there is okay, fine, and we have no resentment is what we say. Our negative things should not reach out to other countries.

His devotees wondering

  1. When Guruji has the most powerful Bhaitri mantra, and prayers calling upon many wrathful divinities that are there to subjugate demons, why would he be unable to protect the pregnancies of Guru Amma from supposed witchcraft against her? – Jesus casted demons out of people and healed anyone from any disease, even from being lamed or blind their whole life through.
  2. If Guruji can receive messages from his divinities, representing directly Maitriya on the earth, why does he need to often inquire by phone about the deeds and motivations of his followers, in fear of conspiracy, of bad motives, of corruption, asking one about the other?
  3. We heard of numerous laws suits against Guruji, what is the validity of those? Why doesn’t he communicate openly about it?
  4. Why does Guruji hide the truth about himself and the actions of his entourage to the wider public. It seems like there is two faces to his speeches, one oral, and the other of controversial actions. He seems to preach one thing, but practices something very different. Is there a reason to this duality?
  5. Guruji, you speak of non-violence in most of your speeches yet it became known that you used violence yourself on a few people, no matter what the justification. Is this not a contradiction? You also say in your teaching: “Never discriminate on the basis of name, appearance, complexion, class, belief, community, power, position, or qualification…” Yet you practice discrimination between your own devotees; some have been banned, others are in positions of favor, to some you are kind while others are expelled in rather violent ways. Is this not a contradiction too?

As it has been nearly impossible for his devotees to ask direct questions to him, we will regularly publish the questions they haven’t been able to send directly to him and receive answers to them.

An illustration of how propaganda gets built, how legends are created, how fanaticism encourages the distortion of the truth. Fanaticism starts from an exaggerated zeal to show devotion and ends up in a sad misleading propaganda.

 

While the websites have never been reviewed by Ram Bomjon himself, nor by anyone qualified to review them, nor even by anyone full stop, they are the product of the fanatical views of the individuals involved in their creation and maintenance. For three years requests were made that a proper review be conducted, it never happened.

The word ‘Sangha’ is used all over the place without any clear definition to support what is meant by that word, one could say that the vagueness is intentional as to give the auditorium the only impression he can get from reading the content, that of a large worldwide collection of communities active and organized around a common goal. Vague enough to keep it totally unaccountable in case of any legal, moral or financial responsibility.

What’s the reality? There is only 2 organizations registered legally, one in Nepal and one in the USA. None of which is actually a ‘Sangha’ as most people would understand the definition of that term, for instance as given in the Wikipedia: “(Pali: सङ्घ saṅgha; Sanskrit: संघ saṃgha; Chinese: 僧伽; pinyin: Sēngjiā; Tibetan: དགེ་འདུན་ dge ‘dun) is a word in Pali and Sanskrit meaning “association”, “assembly,” “company” or “community” and most commonly refers in Buddhism to the monastic community of ordained Buddhist monks or nuns.”

The USA organization does not have any ordained monks within it. There is no ‘Sangha’ activities organized by it, other than the collection of donations (money). The Nepali ‘Sangha’ is having some monks, some of which were given robes without any ordination or vows or ethic being required from them. No education or teaching really takes place, those monks are at times involved in violent acts, and spend most of their time, either playing with their mobile phones, or training to chant the ‘Prayers to the seven Deities’.

All the ‘Sanghas’ represented on the website etapasvi now maitreya.info, are just web pages, google groups, youtube channels or facebook pages, no oversight, no monks, no teaching, no structure, no authorization to create them. That is what most people would call ‘propaganda’. What used to be a single Google Group for all, became obsolete as a big campaign of propaganda was launched by an American born living in Japan Andrea Good, against a former devotee Ms Takacs known as “Marici” after she was chained and detained by the closest collaborators of Ram Bomjon in Halkhoriya. Slander and defamation was propagated against her, access to that Google Group was blocked for her, and a series of new Google Groups were created baring names like “The Core Maitri Sangha group“, the “Sangha Dev group“, “Maha Sambodhi Dharma Sangha Group“, and another dozen others, to cater for the most faithfull to that same Andrea Good more than to any other cause.

The main new group bared a welcome text that stated the following:
“Welcome Sangha members, devotees and followers of Maha Sambodhi Guru Dharma Sangha. This group is formed for those who, in deep trust of the Guru, are making a serious effort to follow the teachings. It is a continuation of the original Google Group founded in 2007. Central to all communication, acts, and meditation is the willingness to dedicate body, speech, and soul/heart to the freedom and welfare of all sentient beings in refuge of the Guru. As this group is for the truly faithful, we are blessed by the Guru’s presence. Thus, we are kindly requested to behave in the same way as we would in his physical presence. When entering this group it is in understanding of the Samaya (agreement) between the follower and Guru to uphold the 11 precepts. If the Samaya is transgressed, then we will remind one another of this responsibility and make an honest effort to repair it by showing a sincere willingness not to repeat the unwholesome act.”
Many were shocked by those discriminatory actions organized and enacted by Andrea Good, and a letter was sent to her with the following text:

“A lot of the sentences there are creating division and discrimination. Does Guruji wonder whether someone is truly faithful or not before he gives his blessing, does He select who to give a blessing to?

First sentence: “Welcome Sangha members, devotees and followers of Maha Sambodhi Guru Dharma Sangha. This group is formed for those who, in deep trust of the Guru, are making a serious effort to follow the teachings.”

Question: Who needs to judge if someone is making a serious effort to follow the teachings or not? Are we following the teaching by creating a separation between some brothers and sisters and others? Isn’t this separation and creation of groups for the “truly faithful” a clear contradiction with the First Precept: “Never discriminate on the basis of name, appearance, complexion, class, belief, community, power, position, or qualification; even discard differentiating between the concepts of material and spiritual”.

Third sentence: “As this group is for the truly faithful, we are blessed by the Guru’s presence.”

Question: Who are we to judge who is truly faithful or not, who are we to ask from anyone to examine whether he deems himself truly faithful or not? Shouldn’t we be inclusive while Guruji works at uniting all religious traditions, here we are creating already division among us. From the moment this division was created, some brothers and sisters feeling ‘unworthy’ of the new group (which by the way is just an internet discussion platform), left with sadness and sorrow and maybe some of them even gave up. From 964 members we are left with 138. We’ve eliminated 826 brothers and sisters from our family. An internet discussion group is not the Holy of Holy of the Temple, and even in Buddhist temples throughout India and Nepal, everyone is welcome, even animals are free to roam. So why are we preventing others brothers and sisters to receive our brotherly love and compassion? The pretext is given on the top: “In respect of Guru’s request not to refer to him as “Buddha Boy” we are shifting this group to a new link which does not contain that label.” Doesn’t this sound like a lame pretext, when you can change the name of the group in the settings of the group? Where is our compassion for “ALL” sentient beings?

Fourth sentence: “Thus, we are kindly requested to behave in the same way as we would in his physical presence.”

Question: Did Guruji ever ask anyone to behave a certain way, or does He through His boundless compassion for ALL naturally invites respect and devotion from all of us? If anything, shouldn’t we be trying to emulate compassion instead of adding precepts of our own making for internet discussion groups?

Fifth sentence: “When entering this group it is in understanding of the Samaya (agreement) between the follower and Guru to uphold the 11 precepts.”

Question: What does entering an online discussion group have to do with a Samaya “Covenant” that is a personal engagement between oneself and the Teacher? Why do we need to distort a tool that can help bring brothers and sisters together and feel among a family, become a tool to divide?

Last sentence: “If the Samaya is transgressed, then we will remind one another of this responsibility and make an honest effort to repair it by showing a sincere willingness not to repeat the unwholesome act.”

Question: Who is the judge of the transgression? Isn’t the creation of so many different groups for this type and that type of brothers and sisters precisely a clear transgression towards the efforts of Guruji to care for ALL sentient beings? How long will it take for us to grow and be inclusive, open our arms and hearts to all our brothers and sisters in this world, regardless their religion, belief, color, faithfulness, unfaithfulness, or any other attributes? Are we really following the Maitri Path when we do this? Is this really what Guruji is teaching us? Did Guruji ask to create many groups to cater for certain types of brothers and sisters and segregate them from the rest?

Is there enough groups, to hold all the various degrees of faithfulness? Are we sure we shouldn’t create maybe also Google’s groups for visitors of this website or that website, for Facebook users and twitter readers? Then some for very faithful readers and others for not yet enough faithful? And who is in charge of determining who passes the examination of faithfulness?”

In the exchange that followed this it was highlighted how this person (Andrea Good) was abusing her position of moderator/self imposed translator/self-proclaimed co-Guru to get from other devotees to pay for her plane tickets to Nepal. She would see nothing wrong with it, as in her eyes, they are ‘her friends’. So she feels clean about it. And in the same exchange, for which the full content of the exchange will later be published, she clearly calls the Google Groups ‘MY BLOGS’ and since they are “HER BLOGS” then definitely she can do what she wants with them. But at least it is important to know that is what they are. As the impression many of us had is that they were something for the community.

No such things as Live Videos exists, no real questions and answer sessions are regularly orgnized. Usually its like 10-15 min sessions that only happened 3 or 4 times, where the content has been filtered out to only portrait the meaningless questions and hide the rest. Projects used to be a big sections but as no project really ever completed it is just a section to portrait that there are things going on when all the projects have failed, the money wasted, the constructions destroyed, and the reasons for collecting the money were masking what the money were spent on.

Instead of apologizing for the illegal detention of Ms Takacs, the theft of her belongings and the abuses made by the entourage of Ramlal Bomjon, two years later the campaign of defamation continued.

In 2011 a devotee, Ms Takacs, then moderator of the Google Group dedicated to discussions for the International audience of curious, devotees, and ‘Truth seekers’ as they call them, moderator together with Mrs Andrea Good, came to Halkhoriya to meditate. She was there long before the March 2012 Maitri Peace Puja was to take place. The detention started before the puja and continued through that very puja. The initial campaign against Ms Takacs was orchestrated by the then Khenpo Sonam Gyurme, and Andrea Good. To counter the web posts where Ms Takacs tells the world her story, their first moves were not to apologize to her. They chose instead to cover-up what happened by making Ms Takacs guilty of her own detention, excluding her from the community, and banning her access to the very Google Group she helped shape and animate.
Unhappy with those measure, as new articles kept emerging, the leaders of the organization of Ramlal Bomjon, kept explaining away those publication by further slandering the character and reputation of Ms Takacs. While two years later in 2013, no one at management positions within the organization ever made the effort to compassionately apologize to her and offer Ms Takacs reparation for her taken belongings that had never been given back to her.
Instead the propaganda against Ms Takacs takes on a new level where the president of Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangha, uses the pseudo-expert opinion of a wannabe monk, a Doctor in psychology waiting to be approved as the monk of Mr Ramlal Bomjon based on a photography. The pseudo-expert opinion, which that ‘great’ specialist establishes by reading the web posts of Ms Takacs, tells more about the specialist than about the person he is diagnosing. The famous ‘online diagnosis’! We can let everyone be the judge for himself of the validity of such a diagnosis, and also about the motivations for circulating that diagnosis within the Google Group of devotees ‘controlled by Mrs Andrea Good’. The famous ‘Etapasvi GG’ at: etapasvi@googlegroups.com.
This is a screen shot of the email sent to that group, private emails have been blacked out, and also a part that is a direct insult and probably the most abject slander against Ms Takacs. While being unable to reach Ms Takacs and request her permission or that of her legal team, I am not in the ability to publish that part:

It is worthy highlighting that the organization of Mr Ramlal Bomjon publicly claims that its purpose is “The BSDS should be based on the spiritual principles and rules of The Most Venerable Dharma Sangha, promoting peace, knowledge, and the welfare of all sentient beings” (Rules_and_Regulations_of_Bodhi_Shrawan_Dharma_Sangha_en.pdf) – (a document created by Khenpo Sonam Gyurme) – Rules and Regulations of BSDS_en, at every single problem they have with other human beings, they choose to apply totally different standards from those of ‘peace, knowledge, and welfare of those very sentient beings. It is also worthy noting that the word compassion is totally absent from those Rules and Regulations of their, maybe, not entirely so Venerable Mr Ramlal Bomjon.
Our un-enlightened minds probably have some problems understanding what spiritual principles and rules of Mr Ramlal Bomjon were applied in this case and everything that surrounds it?
In these dramatic events one should never forget or confuse who are the victims of illegal detentions, and who is executing the illegal detentions. Blaming the victim cannot in any possible way justify the criminal actions that were committed. It is also not serving the promotion of any peace, it is not promoting the welfare of “ANY” sentient being either.
To add another level of twisted circumstances to this, the president of the ‘International Sangha’ as they call it, Kim Nguyen, tells me in private that most of what Ms Takacs writes is actually correct. She even goes further to say that she gets herself at times more information from those web posts than from within the organization.

While nobody is forcing anyone to make donations, how many years of the same tricks do you need to understand that there are some fundamental flaws in the entire management of this organization.

The stated purpose of donations

“Donations support a wide range of causes: constructions, shelters, protection of the environment, food, transport, rents… It all is done through your kindness and generosity only.” – Very vague and broad statement which is officially written on their website.
Through Google groups, social media, website and the donation pump agents, the public is being served a multitude of causes to support throughout the years that have either never been fulfilled or have been totally wasted with the same result as if you were burning yourself the bank notes. It is probably the only actual visible evidence of the infinite compassion of this organization, which thrives at ridding you from any burden in your wallet.
Here is a list of the promises and so-called projects you were supposed to finance through your donations:

What really happens with donations

Money is the tattva of this organization, the essence and engine of all its operations. If observed as a commercial entity, one must admit that only very few commercial companies manage to generate so much income in proportion to the goods they produce. Of all the announced reasons and projects to support, not a single one has been accomplished. So through times the stated purpose of the donations has been modified to reach as vague as possible a phrasing, and in the fervent hope that people will forget about how they were tricked into donating each time.
Here is where the money actually goes:
  1. Helicopter rides – 4 or 5 so far at 4 000 – 7000 USD each.
  2. Buying the 4 wheel drive for Ramlal Bomjon
  3. Repairing the badly driven and badly taken care of car
  4. Making ugly concrete constructions on sites where no construction permit was ever secured. Which in turn get later bulldozed by the authorities.
  5. Money leeks – its a physical property of money in Nepal it seems, where bribing, commissions, service fees, are more or less one and the same.
  6. Court cases
  7. Lawyers
  8. Food
  9. Construction materials
  10. Financing pseudo pujas
In 2012, the year when the detention of Ms Takacs occurred, and when the journalists were attacked while a big World Peace Puja was held in Halkhoriya, the international/USA section of the organization collected 49 875 USD. Or at least that is the amount declared by the USA branch. At the rate of the USD to NPR which went in that period between 87 NPR to 105 NPR for 1 USD. The value ranges between 4 339 125 NPR and 5 236 875 NPR. Add to this amount the unknown figure of the sums collected locally in Nepal.
With time Mr Ramlal Bomjon has developed a liking for helicopter rides. Regardless the trivial issue of wondering if there are enough funds for that, when he wants a ride, he just asks for a ride, and the donation pump is turned on, when it’s not enough, then his closest aids might just take a bank loan, and worry later of how to reimburse it.

Conclusion

While nobody is forcing anyone to make donations, how many years of the same tricks do you need to understand that there are some fundamental flaws in the entire management of this organization. The donations made are factually supporting this entire system of organizational miss-management. Thereby also supporting and contributing to the perception Mr Ramlal Bomjon has that he is above any legal consideration and above any accountability towards anyone.
While we cannot ask him directly about the real meaning of the words he uses in his speeches, which derive from an unknown language spoken by invisible entities which they call Maitri, if in the meantime we just replace that Maitri by ‘commercial marketing’ then everything starts making sense.
If some of the funds were used to buy a book of English for Nepali speakers to Mr Ramlal Bomjon, in all these years he might have been able to address the world he speaks to, in a language the world understands. That book is available for only 44.95 USD. With it Mr Ramlal Bomjon might have had the chance of learning even casually about ethics, principles and values that govern our societies.

Wasted lives of innocent animals, wasted donations coming from people who sometimes have almost nothing, wasted trust and respect from his own devotees and from the world who looked at him with hope.

5 horses bought with donation money are all dead

When negligence is associated to the authoritarian rule of an abusive self-deluded pseudo religious leader the entire environment around him suffers the worst possible outcomes. In the beginning legends were created by the propaganda apparatus around Mr Ramlal Bomjon presenting the horse as it arrived on its own to be near this miraculous guru. Yet the reality is that donation moneys were used to buy all of those horses. The total sums spent to buy successively those 5 horses reached 2 700 000 Nepali rupees, that is about 25 000 euros, or 27 000 USD.

A story of improper care and neglect

Despite raising all the alarms, bringing to the attention of all the people involved the necessities of a proper care for the animals under their possession, one after the other all the horses met terrible deaths. Not shielded or protected properly from the wild predators of this surrounding, fed improperly with food ill adapted to the physiological needs of those horses, their destiny was sealed from the moment they were acquired.
The saddest in this is that their acquisition was organized on the orders/requests of Mr Ramlal Bomjon, and that no one around him has neither the knowledge nor the capacity to properly care for them.

Conclusion

Wasted lives of innocent animals, wasted donations coming from people who sometimes have almost nothing, wasted trust and respect from his own devotees and from the world who looked at him with hope.
The Dalai Lama wrote today: “Do not limit yourself to words; set your students an example. Then they will remember what you tell them better.”.
We ask the Dalai, what to do your Holiness when the teacher doesn’t set an example and behaves in ways that are damaging for him and his followers?

What we imagine, and this is where the word imagine gets all of its power, is not a controversial figure who likes to fly by helicopter, who gets involved in physical abuse over his monks, his family, his devotees. We were all expecting a sort of highly ethical, highly intelligent and discerning being. Instead, at every incident, at any sign of debate or opposition we are witnessing an autocratic, disconnected from reality and the very basic norms of ethical behavior, who knows nothing else than respond with violence and set himself up above the authority of the laws that govern our rights and freedom.
He sets himself as the sole repository of what he calls ‘true dharma’ and tells us no one in any worlds has authority over him. In due time, he tells, he will respond to the objections to the Universe. Or at least that’s how their website mistranslates and uses the word Universe instead of World.
When he is being called the greatest gift from Nepal to mankind, watch out on the sort of gift you are getting.

HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE PATHLAIYA:Volunteers attending to Ram Bahadur Bomjon, who is said to be meditating in the Halkhoriya jungle area of Bara since 2005, today beat up five journalists. Bibhu Adhikari of News 24 TV, Resham Tiwari of NTV, Prakash Lamsal of Image Channel, Binod Pyakurel of TTV and Basant Khatiwada of the Mofasal Dot Com Weekly fell victim to the wrath of the aides of Bomjon, who is also nicknamed Buddha Boy. Following the attack, the journalists rushed to an Armed Police Force camp in Piluwa. “We were filming Bomjon’s sermon but suddenly his aides attacked us and seized our cameras,” said Adhikari. Police had reached Halkhoriya after the incident, but they too were barred from entering the site where Bomjon was giving his sermon. Police, however, managed to get journalists’ cameras back. Let’s decrypt

Why were the journalists attacked? Why such a need to prevent any photos from being taken? What brought the journalist there in the first place? Let’s try to answer the questions.
During this very puja, Ms Takacs was detained. Could it be that journalists taking pictures needn’t happen? Very bad image indeed, a woman tied up, detained, during a Puja about peace and compassion, and their guru giving a speech. They so much can’t cope with what they have done, that year after year the only program they really provide is a program of deception, of covering up the unacceptable and unethical detention of human beings by lies and a series of attempts to discredit the victims, instead of acting with the compassion they preach about.
The men rushing to attack the press are the closest aides to Bomjon, the polish national Tomek Tarnowski (Tom Dorje), which the journalists mistakenly take for a German, and Darshan Limbu, who are also the main executors of the detention and captivity of two women, Ms Takacs and the Nepali healer lady, captured on camera and on still photographies by over half a dozen journalists while confronting the journalists. It took contacting the police in another town and getting them to intervene for the journalists to get back their equipment, snatched by the aides of Bomjon.
Even worse, it’s an accumulated collection of unethical conduct that stains and discredits any valuable lesson that might be contained in the Buddhist-like speeches given by Mr Ramlal Bomjon. What is common to all of them, is a constant denial of responsibility, a systematic blame of the other side.
– A Spanish Woman – A young western adult – Ms Takacs – Villagers from Bara – The brother of Ramlal – Demonstration for the passport of Mr Ramlal that ended up in a collective display of violence – Villagers in September 2014 again in Halkhoriya detained two men then global fight between villagers and Bomjon aides follows.
The list is quite long, over 40 people we know about so far.
In none of these occurrences did Mr Ramlal appease the situation, never did he use the opportunity to dispense a ‘teaching’. Only slightly maybe in September 2014 when he very swiftly apologized to the police that arrived on the scene. What’s been consistent on the contrary for each of these events, is a coordinated effort to provide a quick dismissal of accountability and a blame on the other parties. If Mr Ramlal Bomjon cannot even educate his aides on how to act with compassion, then maybe all his devotees could remind him that laws exist, and violence is condemned in our societies. Even in Nepal.
