‘Sangha’ members from the ‘heart’

The actual deeds of those members with a part-time ‘heart’

Semyon Shekhovtsov

Semyon Shekhovtsov

That is the webmaster and self-appointed judge and jury and controller of the web propaganda. That’s a person that actually never accepted to even talk directly with ‘fellow sangha members’ as he calls them, instead he uses emails or chat to communicate short instructions. Never any kind words, inquiry about one’s health or any other exchanges than what he needs from you. But, he is quicker than thunder to publish any attack against people he and his master Andrea Good feel should be outcast, for instance, Pragya, Khempo Sonam, Dawa, Marici, against whom he would immediately publish accusatory articles on the so-called ‘official’ website of Mr Ramlal Bomjon. He is also the guy who published to the amazement of everyone comments supporting Vladimir Putin. It took a strong reaction coming from the Vietnamese born president Kim Huyen Nguyen to have the comments removed. So this is the guy that never actually behaved in a compassionate, brotherly way towards others, and he tells others and explains to them the ‘spiritual doctrine for Dharma, Marga, Mukti, and Moksha’. He says that this website spreads ‘elaborate lies mixed with truth’, not even clarifying what is truth and what he qualifies as the lies. It is worth underlining that every single fact presented in this website comes from either the victims themselves AND/OR from direct witnesses to the events mentioned here that corroborate the statements of the victims. When the numerous source tell the same thing, then we evaluate the information as sufficiently reliable to publish it here. Yet not all the information that we have received has been published for part of it involves people that are still in danger and in fear of reprisal should they be linked as the source of the information. The facts presented already are alone grave enough to make it absolutely necessary for the world to be informed about the dangers of a cult that has very little respect for fellow human beings, whether they are villagers-neighbors, journalists from the local or international press, young enthusiastic first-time visitors or former devotees, or even animals taken under the so-called ‘protection’ of Mr Ramlal Bomjon. Before going public every possible attempt was made to try to correct in a truly compassionate way the harm done to so many people who genuinely wanted to contribute to the development of a ‘truly’ compassionate and caring community, inclusive of EVERY single sentient being. These attempts were met with more new scandals and outrageous deeds all the way to the point that any sincere and truly caring member of that community was left with no other choice than to separate themselves from the community to at least avoid being instrumental in even indirectly helping the continued pattern of harm to others.

Joan Stanley-Baker

Joan Stanley Baker

What can appear at first glance as a sympathetic old lady albeit harassing, self-centered, self-glorifying and in constant need of imposing to others her biased views. Her degree in Art history is far from qualifying her as an expert in Buddhism, something almost everyone has noticed clearly when reading the texts she writes with a tremendous emphasis and lyricism. She sells herself all around the place as the ‘discoverer’ of the next Buddha-Maitreya, and serves a very down to earth goal, that of bringing as many ‘wealthy’ Chinese guru-seeking potential donors to the group. She is totally blind to the efforts that her presence in Sindhupalchowk require in terms of preparations for her visits. Young almost kids, and youngsters were used as hard labor to make the path to reach the remote location of the so-called ‘Maitri-center’. She behaves a bit like a local star expecting everyone to be at her disposal, to be able to disturb Mr Ramlal Bomjon whenever she wants, to tell others how things should be done. She engages in regular rivalries with Andrea Good, and the two of them, both act as some sort of Mother Superiors and self-proclaimed co-gurus towards the rest of the pretty heterogeneous dislocated community of hard-core fanatics.

Ivy Jugooa – aka Jyampa Lhaden

Ivy Jugooa

That’s the so proud ‘director’ of the international ‘sangha’ whatever that means. That’s the woman who tells during a recorded Skype call that she would be ready to jump from a window or even kill for Mr Ramlal Bomjon if that was asked from her. She is also the one calling the victims of illegal detention ‘witches’ who deserved everything that was done to them. That person was also asking all around the place that we put her paintings on the websites of Mr Ramlal Bomjon, officially to donate the proceeds of sales of her pretty dubious art for the organization of Mr Ramlal Bomjon. When you talk with her every other sentence she makes is something that would raise the hair on the body of any normal healthy human being. Her devotion is mixed with a form of violent fanaticism that makes her totally disqualified to have any active role in any other normal community. The very fact that she is maintained together with all the other scandalous members as the core of that creed is in it-self characterizing the type of creed this group has turned into.

Michael Leon – aka Jyampa Dorje

Mike Leon

That guy is supposed to be a monk. Like all the other ‘monks’ of Mr Ramlal Bomjon he never undertook any proper training or education, he has been given the disguise of a monk, the robe and taught the jargon of hollow Sanskrit words repeated ad vitam eternam, but in practice when he visited California to officially ‘help’ the Vietnamese born president Kim Huyen Nguyen, he would rather spend his time playing video games and slot machines, than performing any actual ‘spiritual’ or ‘helping’ deeds. He then left to work to become the star of the caravan of American born so-called guru Ganga Nath to tour a show called “The seeds of Loving Kindness” where they were selling to the public the story of Mike Leon the ‘monk’ of Mr Ramlal Bomjon to gullible Americans. In a later article I will publish the emails of the Vietnamese president Kim, complaining about his attitude and behavior, complaining that he is wearing jeans instead of wearing the ‘monk’ disguise. So in effect that guy is at best used to make some propaganda and make the rest of the crowd believe there are actual monks that have been trained by Mr Ramlal Bomjon.

Tomas Henryk Tarnawsky – aka Tom Dorje – aka Jyampa Kalshang Jinpa – aka Guru Marga Guru

Tomas Henryk Tarnawsky

What a series of titles and names, a bit like his master Mr Ramlal Bomjon he loves titles and feeling self-important. If that was the only reproach one could have against him, it wouldn’t be such a big deal. But unfortunately that’s far from being the case. This is one of the key actors involved in several of the biggest scandals of violence. This is the guy caught on camera by 5 or 6 different journalists running to attack them and to violently steal their still and video cameras. This is the guy about whom 3 different victims give horrible details of violence. He is one of the main executioners of the violence. He is the right hand of Mr Ramlal Bomjon and executes blindly anything the latter asks. So when a guy like that writes: “I continued searching for life inspiration to open myself to true love and to learn truly to love others”, one should be totally cautious in interpreting that strange desire to ‘love others’ in the light of the violence that he has manifested at so many occasions. He is a talented linguist, judging by the quality of the English used there, or the text might have been redacted by an English speaker, but the rest of his propaganda writings are as hollow as an advertising about bubble gum. He is very much like Andrea Good and Joan Stanley Baker over-selling himself as a quasi-guru, who achieved not eating for 16 days. Who on earth cares whether you eat or not if it is resulting in being a violent person harming others, whether they are journalists, women, or any one else for a matter of fact! His is selling the propaganda that Mr Ramlal Bomjon is “a most kind and humble human being”. Never heard of humble human beings requiring from others to bow to them, decorating themselves with a bunch of pompous titles, and having kids and others do for you all possible chores, while he himself never actually moves even his little finger to help someone personally and directly. He needs the money and hard labor of others to make ‘kind’ donations to first a huge number of people in announcements that ends up not even reach a third of what was announced. So contrary to the assertion of Mr Tarnawsky, no one has any wishes or desires to proclaim false-guru with the intention of getting rid of Mr Ramlal Bomjon. The only single minded intention that underlines all the efforts of this website is to make sure that the public is at least warned about the things going on in and around the organization of Mr Bomjon. When Mr Tarnawsky says that it was without ‘consulting’ anyone and according to false ‘rumors’ that things were disclosed through this website, one can really tell that it is a big lie, the “consultation and discussion” was there all along, for many years the president was almost nothing else but discussing all those topics, and with quite a few other people that those scandals – and we are not talking here about rumors, but about actual events, facts shared in secrecy by the president herself with him, by the victims, by direct witnesses to the events, by the testimony of the journalists involved in the violence Mr Tarnawsky exercised against them, by devotees that were there and didn’t know what to make out of what they saw with their own eyes and through what he saw himself while he was there. If it was only from a single testimonial of someone not really sure about what he saw, one could qualify this as ‘hear-say’. The problem is that it has been corroborated by more than just a single source. The horrible part of this is that those acts of violence have been done in total impunity, in front of many witnesses. The press was involved in quite a number of those scandals, Mr Ramlal Bomjon himself was filmed explaining what happened. Explaining the ludicrous scheme of even thinking about locking up villagers, even if they are drunk. Every single event that involved violence, has been done because of this feeling of ‘authority’ that is reinforced between a crowd of fanatical worshipers and the man who imposes on everyone that he is the ‘guru’ and ‘no-one’ should disturb him.

Throughout the ages, the arhants who went to fullfil their vows (tapasya), didn’t require to violently impose their missions, they all did find the right places of seclusion. The incapacity of Mr Bomjon to even have a normal explanation and show his compassion towards those that ‘seemingly’ disturb him, tells more about the scope and reach of his compassion than about any form of inherent ‘authority’. He doesn’t need an pseudo-army of pseudo-monks to protect him. He just needs to be compassionate for real!

Even without relying on any other witnesses just relying on Mr Bomjon explaining himself to the police when interrogated what happened, that alone is sufficient for any honest and decent person to refuse to be an accessory in any way shape or form to the acts of violence hence crimes committed in the name of a ‘supposed or perceived authority” by Mr Ramlal Bomjon to justify the way he treats other human beings or the orders he gives that result in terrible outcomes for the animals he is supposed to protect. So when Mr Tarnawsky would take concrete steps to repair the harm he has caused, then and only then, anything that Mr Tarnawsky writes could have any value. That guy never apologized to anyone he has hurt. One can really only question the morality of a person that actively participates in the detention of other human beings.

If there had been a genuine pursuit of compassion towards all living beings, there would have never been any detentions, never been any fights with villagers, never been any need to attack journalists and steal their equipment, if Mr Ramlal Bomjon had truly achieved enlightenment he would have never needed to hide the truth about his sexual activities, to hide the truth about the abortions, about the birth of his son. If he had really fulfilled his penance he wouldn’t need to keep talking about ‘his authority’, he wouldn’t need violence to assert his positions. If truth was important there would have never been any need to forge a birth certificate. There wouldn’t been any needs to publish on his official site any defamation against anyone. If he achieved really enlightenment he wouldn’t need to make threats, he wouldn’t need to ask one devotee about the other, he wouldn’t need to hide that he didn’t write all of his speeches, he would be like the historical Buddha capable of explaining his doctrines intelligently and coherently, he would be an example of righteousness and compassion even toward those that ‘disturb’ him and conquer their hearts with his own genuine kindness and compassion. There would be no need either to announce pompous projects that get never achieved, to announce that 3000 villagers would receive food, medical supplies, equipment for building temporary shelters in order to collect money and in the end judging only through the statements published on the ‘official’ website that barely 600 only were helped. We wouldn’t be the witnesses of every single outrageous claim of project ending up at best into a ridiculously small version of it, or at worst ending up into a disgusting damage of the pristine environment with concrete constructions built without permit and without following the legal process for constructions.

Conclusion

One should not confuse meditation skills, even the ability to meditate without food in itself is not a proof of enlightenment. It’s just a demonstration of skills at meditating or at best a mastery of tummo. Anyone can create a cult or a religion if one wants to. That doesn’t make that cult or religion the manifestation of the Ultimate Truth.

But as soon as violence starts manifesting itself, and keeps coming back around the same group of people and actors, there is no way one can stay a silent witness to that, and continue supporting, financing and promoting that cause. And as that violence keeps manifesting itself, the only decent thing left to do is to warn everyone of the dangers of that cult. Had there been any honest steps taken to correct the lies, the abuses, the mismanagement, the controlling damaging behavior of some members like Ivy Jugooa, Andrea Good, Semyon, Joan Stanley Bakers, the violence expressed so publicly by Mr Tarnawsky, there would have never been the need to put all that dirty laundry out in public, instead the genuine and true efforts to achieve the good and act compassionately towards all living beings would have encountered the understanding and the help of many of those that left to bring and organize the proper mechanisms for diligence, honesty, non-violence and genuine care for all living beings.

Yet all that happened was going the opposite way of that direction. Dissimulation and lies served as tools of propaganda to sell a myth that evidently serves only the purpose of collecting money. Nothing was ever done to correct or to prevent the damaging attitudes and behaviors that created the climate of fanaticism and intolerance which resulted in so many instances of violence and scandals. There has never been any caring and brotherly attitude from the main actors/groupies around Mr Ramlal Bomjon towards the rest of the devotees. Instead just a dogmatic arrogant and pretty stupid attitude that had and has nothing to do with kindness and compassion. Waving around words like Dharma, Sangha, Maitri, Moksha, Mukti, is not enough to make that creed reliable or credible. It can certainly fool some people, but in the end it is through the actual deeds that one judges the message and its validity. The heart of honest and truthful people is moved by good deeds not by scandals and violence.

When a man says he is a guru

Someone who lives a real dharma won’t preach about it. They show it in their ‘works’ – that is the way they live their lives every day. If someone is ethical, virtuous, kind, giving, patient, harmonious, has integrity, and lives with a sense of serving others more than themselves, then you can likely trust them.

When a man says he is a guru

When a man who says he is a guru threatens or states another man will be extinguished, self-annihilated or any similar outlandish claims. Can he be a guide to anyone?

When a man who says he is a guru uses violence against other men and women, can he be trusted when he talks about compassion or supposed world peace?

When a man who says he is a guru harbors weapons, engages his monks in fights with neighboring villagers, can his teachings be trusted?

When a man who says he is a guru only waves around his supposed attainment as an argument of a supposed authority, does that call for the respect of his fellow men?

When a man who says he is a guru mostly communicates to exclude, to shift blame, or to cancel made promises is he inviting trust and reliance in his words?

When a man who says he is a guru never teaches or explains anything, yet expects from his followers blind obedience, can he expect to be followed?

When a man who says he is a guru physically abuses, usually by telling devotees to assault other devotees, or has a vindictive attitude towards ex-devotees, can he be considered a true guru?

When a man who says he is a guru acts whimsically and emotionally can he be relied upon when talking about the path to overcome those?

When a man who says he is a guru and his chosen ones act like a militia, physically punishing others and severely damaging them would you take those acts of omnipotence with no accountability as a the sign of any enlightenment?

When a man who says he is a guru keeps on focusing on his supposed enlightenment rather than teaching the path leading to it, doesn’t practice what he preaches, demands love and devotion, takes sexual advantage of his followers, gives himself outrageous titles, allows his followers to set up a hierarchy of access, and acts like a paranoid person, can he still pretend to be a guru?

Conclusion

Someone who lives a real dharma won’t preach about it. They show it in their ‘works’ – that is the way they live their lives every day. If someone is ethical, virtuous, kind, giving, patient, harmonious, has integrity, and lives with a sense of serving others more than themselves, then you can likely trust them. Someone who teaches these principles but does not live them – isn’t a real guru.

The organization of an abusive guru is called a cult. It is important to understand that no truly Realized being, no True Guru, is ever abusive, ever. There is no exception to this rule, because abusiveness is a result of narcissism and ego, nothing else, and the primary definition of a true guru is they no longer possess ego.

No Dharma and No Sangha

From: https://web-beta.archive.org/web/20151007054558/http://www.dharma-sangha.com/news/2015/04/09/no-dharma-and-no-sangha

by This website | Apr 09, 2015
There can be no Dharma, where women or men are detained. There can be no Dharma that is imposed by force, manipulation or lies.

No Dharma, no Sangha

No Dharma

Dharma is not the production of one to one and a half A4 paper length of Buddhist text per year in a fairly unclear Nepali translated by an American that contain enough times the words guru, maitri, compassion, peace and other keywords. It is not a few sessions of blessings per year. Speeches and so-called teachings, alone without any exchange or explanations, is just a mere make-up or thin paint to make it look like Buddhist, or look like Dharma. Add to this the various layers of incompetence, lack of any merit, switched off consciences of the inner circle of groupies, it breaks apart all the very letters of the word dharma, and throws the meaning of the word to a giant pit of futility.

There can be no Dharma, where women or men are detained. There can be no Dharma that is imposed by force, manipulation or lies. A puja which is unfolding while someone is chained, journalists are being attacked, is not a puja, it’s just a deceiving spectacle which hides a cruel and tragic flip side.

Pretending that it didn’t happen is not Dharma. Disregarding the suffering of those victims is not Dharma.

No Sangha

A Sangha is not the count of Facebook likes, or of followers on Social Media. A Sangha is not the recitation of Maitri Mangalam added on comments online. A Sangha is not about pretending the existence of branches all over the world with no one any where that has the capacity and merit to transmit a Dharmic teaching. A local Nepali Sangha is not the appointments of political or influential people at the head of local committees which are operated without any review or verification process.

Monks that receive no training, no education, no teaching, are just merely individuals wearing the clothing of monks. When monks are not real monks, and we have a Sangha that is not really a Sangha, a teacher that doesn’t really teach but rather keeps showing us what not to do, and where there is no Dharma, what do we have then? Let’s a cat a cat, it seems there is only ‘Facebook likes’, Followers of the virtual sphere of the Social Medias. Some call it just marketing, others might call it propaganda, some could even call it a business. Repeating the same sentences, and uttering more or less the same jargon doesn’t define any more this loose community as a Sangha.

What are the available definitions of a Sangha

On the website ‘Access to insight, the following definition is given:

In the suttas the word sangha (lit. “group, assembly”) is usually used in one of two ways: it refers either to the community of ordained monks and nuns (bhikkhu-sangha and bhikkhuni-sangha) or to the community of “noble ones” (ariya-sangha) — persons who have attained at least stream-entry, the first stage of Awakening. Link

The definition of ariya-sangha, according to the Mahanama Sutta:

“The Sangha of the Blessed One’s disciples who have practiced well… who have practiced straight-forwardly… who have practiced methodically… who have practiced masterfully — in other words, the four types [of noble disciples] when taken as pairs, the eight when taken as individual types — they are the Sangha of the Blessed One’s disciples: worthy of gifts, worthy of hospitality, worthy of offerings, worthy of respect, the incomparable field of merit for the world.” – AN 11.12

Conclusion

Can anyone among the inner circle of management claim to have attained any of those levels of practice? Has there ever been anyone taught by Mr Ramlal Bomjon who has achieved any level of Awakening that might be qualified to teach others in his turn? In the last nine years, a profusion of promises for the writing of a book, for teachings, for learning a mysterious Maitri language, for building a big Therthup Hall Temple, for Maitreya Statues, for saving the Halkhoriya forest, so many unfulfilled promises, which have not taught anything to anyone.

Lovetruthjoy and the money trail

The co-guru Andrea Good, was agitating her devotees in Japan for a long time as how the next step would be the creation of a Japanese Sangha. She was pushing for that process for a while, when she started taking the steps for registering such an organization in Japan.

lovetruthjoy through her own writing

First a bit of context. The co-guru Andrea Good, was agitating her devotees in Japan for a long time as how the next step would be the creation of a Japanese Sangha. She was pushing for that process for a while, when she started taking the steps for registering such an organization in Japan. Pragya even went to Japan for that occasion and was handled like a servant by Madame the Co-guru. Andrea Good was trying to get money in any way shape or form she could. From Kim the up till now and maybe no longer President of BSDS she asked for money for the stay of Pragya, from her local devotees she was asking for money to pay for ‘her volunteer work’ as translator of one or two A4 pages of text, mostly done by actual Nepali (Rahul, Pragya etc…), but for which she needed the credit, and more than anything else the money. Om money padme hmmmm.

Throughout all those years I have been interacting (if we can call it like that) with Mrs  Andrea G., each and everyone of her actions visible and the less visible ones through others, were control, money, lies, self-delusion, and ego trips. She is actually convinced to do the right thing for a higher goal and that as such she is above everyone else. That is usually what is called fanaticism. That is the moment where your faith or what you believe takes over your conscience, moral principles and honesty.

You will see through her own words below in the full copy of her text, how she uses people’s devotion and her position to ask for money. She uses what was meant to be ‘volunteer work’ her donation to the Sangha as she calls it everywhere, to monetize her effort. When confronted with that, she just simply brushes the issue away and says, it ‘was my friends helping me’. Not for a split second does she even envisage that this is an abuse of her position, a deviated way of having others pay for your ‘donation of time’. But as time has shown, for all these years all that she has been doing is clinging to her position, ‘her powers’, perceived and imposed, and to her denials.

While trying to open a Sangha in Japan, she realizes having a legal organization imposes some restrictions in the way you deal with money, with legality, a structure and rules that need to be followed, you have to be able to finance such a structure, you have to have a real backing and support. Kim was insisting that things are done properly. Andrea didn’t like that. So the adventure of opening a Sangha had to be called off, and some explanations needed to be given to all those people waiting for that. This is in full the text Andrea Good writes to her closest following:

[buddhaboy] The situation in Japan

Dear Group,

I would like to give you an update of the situation over here and also make a request.  I’m sure all have been wondering exactly what became of our lives and the Japan Chapter after the return of Manu and Bhante. Our group was a little taken aback when it really came home that forming a Japanese chapter would mean submission of personal documentation both in Nepal and Japan and furthermore the complete formation of a “religious organization”, there being thousands in this country already with not a lot to boast about, but rather more to hide which means that such an organization would likely alienate more than it would welcome. It would also create the need for a lot of funding for office space.  For us, this simply did not “feel” right, nor given our present conditions, are we the most competent people to do this.  So, we decided to form a chapter of BSDS in the heart and to meet together and pick through Japanese translations and learn how to chant Maha Pranidhan. I think the majority of this group will understand our feelings, although this should not be taken in any way to be a separation, because it certainly isn’t.  So we have devoted our body, speech and mind to the sake of all sentient beings, and recognize that Guruji is giving us guidance through the heart.  We are also actively promoting Guruji’s cause among friends and relatives and online in Japan.

I have been struggling for some time also to pay my bills, and Sister Kidwen was extremely supportive, by paying most of Manu and Bhante’s expenses.  I am so grateful for this. My difficulties were somewhat exacerbated by several coinciding problems, the first, you all know occurred with the earthquake, tidal waves, and nuclear situation in Japan, which made most businesses except grocery stores suffer if not stop completely.  My own friends and customers were intimidated by the present situation.  Many came to the shop to discuss their problems and have tea (and I was very grateful for their company) and yet few were inclined to buy anything.  I also tended to retreat because I felt the need to concentrate on translating the Maha Pranidhan, so sometimes I simply hermitized 😉 for a few hours a day, assuming I would get into the swing of business again later.  Things continued in this way when my husband went to hospital where he remains.  I need to commute daily to take care of two apartments and make sure my children on both sides are fed.  Of course I am happy now because I enjoy much better relations with my family, and even feel eventually I will be able to leave this apartment to my increasingly independent son and return to care for my younger daughter and husband.  My husband was able to get leave over the past two days which were national holidays and all four of us were able to be together.  Although now I am twice as busy…and thanks to the help of the shop people who have gently led me back into being a full-fledged aromatherapist for the sake of the shop and my family, things are looking better.  So there are bright sides, and also realities that need to be faced.  One, I am two months behind on my family bills ($3,000).  The extra money that remained in Nepal is there for two purposes, some of that money ($1000) is being reserved to pay for Solar Energy once a decision is made by BSDS, and the remaining ($300) is to pay for extra expenses incurred by Dawa and or Marici who are spending so much time and energy to provide information and guidance to our group.

Given the situation, my husband’s continued hospitalization, and the needs of my family, I have decided not to attend Maha Darshan, but will probably revisit Nepal at a later time. Dawa has been praying very hard for us, my husband’s recovery and in the hope that one day my whole family wishes to go to Nepal with me. That would be wonderful. I certainly believe that this will soon be the case.

So I hope you will forgive me for reaching out to the group again for some support to help my family get back on its feet. I hope that we have been useful in providing the closest translations possible (thanks greatly to Rahul – I hope I will be able to send him something nice, even though he helps only with the sincere wish to understand Guruji.) The translations will continue beyond their publishing for Maha Pranidhan, and indeed beyond all publishing as I’m sure things will just keep popping up!  And, as always, I like to give in return to those who have been kindly helping out.  I still have just a few blessed strings left, but quite a few “The World in One Heart” (chants of the heart sutra from around the world) CDs produced by Imee Ooi, and also the Om Namo Guru Buddha Gyani CDs, so please feel free to ask for them, otherwise I will send you one of each CD, as I also have some stamps left as well to pay for the postage. Since my own paypal can no longer be used to send money to Japan, with kind permission from Sister Kidwen, she will gather any funds sent to me  via her paypal account (kim……@…….and she can forward them

once she returns from Maha Darshan

via the banks to my account in Japan, so please send me your name and address and a memo of the amount via email so I can send you CDs and a string if they are still left over.  Mark the purpose as for World Peace Prayers translation.

Thank you very much.  Sarva Mangalam Astu.

Maitri,

LTJ D (Andrea Good)

There is nothing to teach others when such a culture of dishonesty, abusive exercise of positions that were meant to be volunteer contribution.

There is no valuable moral stand to show when no one in those management positions has the courage to stop the abuses, when these people are telling everyone what to do and how they explain away crimes like unlawful detention, the confiscation of personal belongings from the women they detained, and ask from people things that they themselves cannot do.

Confusion comes from lies

by This website | Feb 13, 2015

Lies get you into more lies, that get you into more lies and more problems…

When things are wrong they also appear wrong

The March 2014 the official newsletter of Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangha announces the ordination of a new monk baring the name Jyampa Ngami. The text goes and says:
“We are pleased to report the USA Sangha has been diligently working to develop a new Temple in the name of Maitriya Guru Maha Sambodhi Dharma Sangha. The Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangha Temple opened in early February, 2014. Although located in the United States, The Temple is the sacred space for devotees from all parts of the world, who are always invited to visit, pray, chant and study Dharma.
The Temple houses a beautiful shrine adorned with a new Maitriya statue, carved in stone, along with pictures of His Holiness, and other sacred objects. The USA Chapter office is also being housed in the Temple along with monk living quarters, library, and a meditation room. The back of the Temple is a peaceful space for walking meditations, tea meditations, and quiet mindful moments underneath a large actual Bodhi tree.
We are currently meeting every Sunday at 2:00 PM to pray, chant and share the loving kindness of Guru. We would like to take this opportunity to give you a warm welcome to the Temple if you happen to be in the area. The Temple is located in Westminster, California. Please call Jampa Ngami if you would like to visit with us at (xxx) xxx-xx-xx. We would love to greet you. For those devotees who would like to volunteer their time and talents, we are always delighted to welcome you, and show you projects we are working on at the moment. Please call Jampa Ngami and he will arrange for your stay at the Temple.”

Who is Jyampa Ngami

It’s someone who presented himself as Dr. William J. Moore, Ph.D., MSW, LADC, CCS Clinical Director, and asked to become a monk for Ramlal Bomjon. This doctor of psychology will serve the purpose of establishing an online diagnosis to discredit Ms Takacs, quoted in emails sent by Mrs Kim Nguyen (president of Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangha). Instead of ever organizing an internal process within the organization to question the criminal act of the detention of people by the entourage of Ramlal Bomjon, the top management of BSDS, with Kim Nguyen as president, Andrea Good as ‘moderator of her own blogs, namely the google groups of deception’, organizes the orchestrated slander and defamation of Ms Takacs. His online diagnosis is sent to Kishore Sherchand a Nepali realtor in the USA, who writes self-inspired articles about Ramlal Bomjon on Nepali blogs and media. The intent, showing that what Ms Takacs writes on her blogs is not reliable, calling into the very integrity of the person who was the victim of an unlawful detention by Ramlal Bomjon. The full text of the emails will be later provided.

Question: How was he accepted by Ramlal Bomjon?
Answer: A photo of Dr Moore was presented to Ramlal Bomjon and he accepted him. They never met, no training or teaching was ever provided to the wannabe monk. No substance ever existed in any of the steps of that process.

Question: How was Dr Moore ordained?
Answer: By staging a fake ordination ceremony in the USA, not a single ordained monk was present at the ceremony. Only two persons connected to Ramlal Bomjon were present at the ceremony, Kim Nguyen and Dawa Ngima Tamang. Neiter Kim nor Dawa are monks. The rest are Vietnamese family and friends of Kim Nguyen, and the monk itself. See below photos of the ceremony. The house belong to Kim Nguyen, and let us translate what is written in this newsletter: “The temple houses a beautiful shrine adorned with a ‘New Maitriya’ statue, carved in stone’, along with pictures of His Holiness and other sacred objects’. The house is a plain ordinary house, with an ordinary cheap chinese collection of buddha statues, a stone statue turned backward (ok that must be the My Trayer statue, it’s ashamed to look at us it seems), a small cardboard calendar on a short tallboy and another calendar hanging on the wall.

Monk ordination ceremony The 'Temple' and 'Shrine' The outside of the 'Temple'

Question: What happens with this monk?
Answer: Not long after the ordination, and installation of the fake monk, in the fake temple, the fake monk is getting tired of being alone in the fake temple, tired of wearing the robe (poor guy he never received the nice blue monk dress designed by Guru-stylist Ramlal Bomjon. He is even beginning to threaten Kim Nguyen. Sending menacing sms’s to her. Kim doesn’t know what to do with him any more. A fake monk, in a fake temple, making ‘real’ threats, that’s no good! So after weeks of cat and mouse game between the monk and Kim where the monk would not answer at the phone calls, not open the door of the fake temple, keep asking for money, walk around the town in civilian ordinary clothes, Kim manages to get rid of him, sending him to a Vietnamese Buddhist temple.

The organization BSDS in the USA

An organization officially registered in the USA exists. What is flimsy with it is that it doesn’t have any real activity other than collecting the money of all the international donations. Before moneys were also collected in Japan by Andrea Good, but the organization quickly realized that Mrs Good is not so good when it comes to dealing with money. Andrea even told once Kim that taking a bit of money from the donations is OK, as long as no one knows about it. So donations are centrally collected by the Kim, and what else? Well not much really, there was a fair organized once in San Francisco, to which they participated, with a stand and banner, see photo.
 The California Fair
A few names are registered with this organization, as an organization in the USA requires that you have at least a President, a Treasurer and a Secretary. So some local friends devotees are named at those positions. Two of them only in reality a certain Mark V. M. and Smitha, yet Kim sends emails informing of the existance of 6 main members of Board of Directors. In which I am named as one of them, even though I was never either asked to accept such a function, nor ever received any information about the role of the board or my role within it. The two persons Mark V. and Smitha, almost never meet, even for the mandatory meetings a this fictitious board.
Here is the extract of the email sent by Kim Nguyen to Mr Kishore to explain the structure of the organization:

“Dear Kishore,

This is Kim. We have 6 main members from Board Director, 5 from California and 1 from France( our webmaster, Ivan). We also have a lot of members, both in US and outside of US too. I am out of town, in Florida. When i come back next week, I will fw you the board names, if you like to know. We are an approved 501(c)3 non profit organization. So, all donation are 100% tax exempt.

Maitri Mangalam,

K.”

In may 2014, that very tax exemption was revoked by the American IRS. (check this link: http://orghunter.com/organization/453932891 ), I even informed myself Kim about it, that was in December 2014. Mark and Smitha not even being reachable Kim Nguyen is filling the vacancy with her own daughter. (Where are all the other 4 missing directors?) Maybe that email was not so accurate. Can we call this a lie? Or maybe I am just trying to create some confusion? Where does the confusion come from, each and everyone of those actors should ask themselves, as I am asking myself. At least I try to highlight the source, the causes, and the possibilities for restoring truth and accountability.
In the meantime Kim has been collecting in emergency ‘receipts’ from Nepal of expenditures. Receipts from Nepal in 2015 for the past years? The ink must be very fresh on those receipts. I hope they are true receipts.
“We have a lot of members”, well let’s examine the word member; member implies membership, membership is the choice one makes to join, subscribe, or belong to ‘something’. BSDS USA, and BSDS Nepal, have no membership programs, no membership processes, no members list, no members that declared themselves members. Sometimes it’s not a bad idea to call a cat: “A cat!”.
Wait a second. If no real board of directors, if no real monk, if no real temple, if no real organization, we wonder where does the confusion come from?

Propaganda and Web lies

by This Website | Feb 07, 2015

An illustration of how propaganda gets built, how legends are created, how fanaticism encourages the distortion of the truth. Fanaticism starts from an exaggerated zeal to show devotion and ends up in a sad misleading propaganda.

While the websites have never been reviewed by Ram Bomjon himself, nor by anyone qualified to review them, nor even by anyone full stop, they are the product of the fanatical views of the individuals involved in their creation and maintenance. For three years requests were made that a proper review be conducted, it never happened.

The word ‘Sangha’ is used all over the place without any clear definition to support what is meant by that word, one could say that the vagueness is intentional as to give the auditorium the only impression he can get from reading the content, that of a large worldwide collection of communities active and organized around a common goal. Vague enough to keep it totally unaccountable in case of any legal, moral or financial responsibility.

Sangha Worldwide Untruth

What’s the reality? There is only 2 organizations registered legally, one in Nepal and one in the USA. None of which is actually a ‘Sangha’ as most people would understand the definition of that term, for instance as given in the Wikipedia: “(Pali: सङ्घ saṅgha; Sanskrit: संघ saṃgha; Chinese: 僧伽; pinyin: Sēngjiā; Tibetan: དགེ་འདུན་ dge ‘dun) is a word in Pali and Sanskrit meaning “association”, “assembly,” “company” or “community” and most commonly refers in Buddhism to the monastic community of ordained Buddhist monks or nuns.”

The USA organization does not have any ordained monks within it. There is no ‘Sangha’ activities organized by it, other than the collection of donations (money). The Nepali ‘Sangha’ is having some monks, some of which were given robes without any ordination or vows or ethic being required from them. No education or teaching really takes place, those monks are at times involved in violent acts, and spend most of their time, either playing with their mobile phones, or training to chant the ‘Prayers to the seven Deities’.

Fake list of Sanghas

Fake List continued

All the ‘Sanghas’ represented on the website etapasvi now maitreya.info, are just web pages, google groups, youtube channels or facebook pages, no oversight, no monks, no teaching, no structure, no authorization to create them. That is what most people would call ‘propaganda’. What used to be a single Google Group for all, became obsolete as a big campaign of propaganda was launched by an American born living in Japan Andrea Good, against a former devotee Ms Takacs known as “Marici” after she was chained and detained by the closest collaborators of Ram Bomjon in Halkhoriya. Slander and defamation was propagated against her, access to that Google Group was blocked for her, and a series of new Google Groups were created baring names like “The Core Maitri Sangha group“, the “Sangha Dev group“, “Maha Sambodhi Dharma Sangha Group“, and another dozen others, to cater for the most faithfull to that same Andrea Good more than to any other cause.

Social Illusion

The main new group bared a welcome text that stated the following:
“Welcome Sangha members, devotees and followers of Maha Sambodhi Guru Dharma Sangha. This group is formed for those who, in deep trust of the Guru, are making a serious effort to follow the teachings. It is a continuation of the original Google Group founded in 2007. Central to all communication, acts, and meditation is the willingness to dedicate body, speech, and soul/heart to the freedom and welfare of all sentient beings in refuge of the Guru. As this group is for the truly faithful, we are blessed by the Guru’s presence. Thus, we are kindly requested to behave in the same way as we would in his physical presence. When entering this group it is in understanding of the Samaya (agreement) between the follower and Guru to uphold the 11 precepts. If the Samaya is transgressed, then we will remind one another of this responsibility and make an honest effort to repair it by showing a sincere willingness not to repeat the unwholesome act.”
Many were shocked by those discriminatory actions organized and enacted by Andrea Good, and a letter was sent to her with the following text:

“A lot of the sentences there are creating division and discrimination. Does Guruji wonder whether someone is truly faithful or not before he gives his blessing, does He select who to give a blessing to?

First sentence: “Welcome Sangha members, devotees and followers of Maha Sambodhi Guru Dharma Sangha. This group is formed for those who, in deep trust of the Guru, are making a serious effort to follow the teachings.”

Question: Who needs to judge if someone is making a serious effort to follow the teachings or not? Are we following the teaching by creating a separation between some brothers and sisters and others? Isn’t this separation and creation of groups for the “truly faithful” a clear contradiction with the First Precept: “Never discriminate on the basis of name, appearance, complexion, class, belief, community, power, position, or qualification; even discard differentiating between the concepts of material and spiritual”.

Third sentence: “As this group is for the truly faithful, we are blessed by the Guru’s presence.”

Question: Who are we to judge who is truly faithful or not, who are we to ask from anyone to examine whether he deems himself truly faithful or not? Shouldn’t we be inclusive while Guruji works at uniting all religious traditions, here we are creating already division among us. From the moment this division was created, some brothers and sisters feeling ‘unworthy’ of the new group (which by the way is just an internet discussion platform), left with sadness and sorrow and maybe some of them even gave up. From 964 members we are left with 138. We’ve eliminated 826 brothers and sisters from our family. An internet discussion group is not the Holy of Holy of the Temple, and even in Buddhist temples throughout India and Nepal, everyone is welcome, even animals are free to roam. So why are we preventing others brothers and sisters to receive our brotherly love and compassion? The pretext is given on the top: “In respect of Guru’s request not to refer to him as “Buddha Boy” we are shifting this group to a new link which does not contain that label.” Doesn’t this sound like a lame pretext, when you can change the name of the group in the settings of the group? Where is our compassion for “ALL” sentient beings?

Fourth sentence: “Thus, we are kindly requested to behave in the same way as we would in his physical presence.”

Question: Did Guruji ever ask anyone to behave a certain way, or does He through His boundless compassion for ALL naturally invites respect and devotion from all of us? If anything, shouldn’t we be trying to emulate compassion instead of adding precepts of our own making for internet discussion groups?

Fifth sentence: “When entering this group it is in understanding of the Samaya (agreement) between the follower and Guru to uphold the 11 precepts.”

Question: What does entering an online discussion group have to do with a Samaya “Covenant” that is a personal engagement between oneself and the Teacher? Why do we need to distort a tool that can help bring brothers and sisters together and feel among a family, become a tool to divide?

Last sentence: “If the Samaya is transgressed, then we will remind one another of this responsibility and make an honest effort to repair it by showing a sincere willingness not to repeat the unwholesome act.”

Question: Who is the judge of the transgression? Isn’t the creation of so many different groups for this type and that type of brothers and sisters precisely a clear transgression towards the efforts of Guruji to care for ALL sentient beings? How long will it take for us to grow and be inclusive, open our arms and hearts to all our brothers and sisters in this world, regardless their religion, belief, color, faithfulness, unfaithfulness, or any other attributes? Are we really following the Maitri Path when we do this? Is this really what Guruji is teaching us? Did Guruji ask to create many groups to cater for certain types of brothers and sisters and segregate them from the rest?

Is there enough groups, to hold all the various degrees of faithfulness? Are we sure we shouldn’t create maybe also Google’s groups for visitors of this website or that website, for Facebook users and twitter readers? Then some for very faithful readers and others for not yet enough faithful? And who is in charge of determining who passes the examination of faithfulness?”

In the exchange that followed this it was highlighted how this person (Andrea Good) was abusing her position of moderator/self imposed translator/self-proclaimed co-Guru to get from other devotees to pay for her plane tickets to Nepal. She would see nothing wrong with it, as in her eyes, they are ‘her friends’. So she feels clean about it. And in the same exchange, for which the full content of the exchange will later be published, she clearly calls the Google Groups ‘MY BLOGS’ and since they are “HER BLOGS” then definitely she can do what she wants with them. But at least it is important to know that is what they are. As the impression many of us had is that they were something for the community.

No such things as Live Videos exists, no real questions and answer sessions are regularly orgnized. Usually its like 10-15 min sessions that only happened 3 or 4 times, where the content has been filtered out to only portrait the meaningless questions and hide the rest. Projects used to be a big sections but as no project really ever completed it is just a section to portrait that there are things going on when all the projects have failed, the money wasted, the constructions destroyed, and the reasons for collecting the money were masking what the money were spent on.
